Odds, Picks, and Predictions for the 2022 Hero World Challenge PGA Tour

While Tiger Woods’ absence has dominated the headlines surrounding this week’s event in the Bahamas, 20 of the world’s best players will still be in attendance for what should be another fantastic event at Albany. With Viktor Hovland returning to defend his title, oddsmakers John Rahm (+500) and Scottie Scheffler (+750) lead the way.

Let’s take a closer look at the event, the course, and who might come out on top on Sunday in the Bahamas.

Albany Golf Club Course Preview
The island course at Albany will host the seventh edition of this event, with a links-style layout measuring 7,414 yards and a Par 72. Albany, like all courses in this part of the world, is entirely covered in bermudagrass, so we’ll be looking for golfers who excel on such surfaces.

Albany is also known for having a small rough area, with the fairway leading straight into penalty areas and/or sand. The greens, which were designed by Ernie Els in 2010, are known for being slower than most weeks on tour, with players getting a good feel early on and producing scores in the teens.

  • Tony Finau ( OKBET Golf sportsbook: +850)

The markets continue to overlook Big Tone, who has three wins in his last seven events. The last time we saw Finau on a course, he shot all four days in the 60s, including a Friday 62 on his way to a -16 finish in the Houston Open.

Finau has a +2.81 True SG in three starts at Albany, including a runner-up finish in 2018. While the season is still young, Finau enters this event ranked fifth in the world in SG: Total, SG: Off-the-Tee, SG: Approach, and SG: Tee-to-Green; and with no obvious flaws in his game. His scoring average of 67.23 per round also leads all PGA Tour golfers to this point.

In what will be his fourth consecutive appearance in this event, I expect Finau to play well enough to be in contention come Sunday and to be well within striking distance of the top prize.
